been a long day

it's been one of those days.

where i'm faced with every changing moment

that's raring up and getting ready to punch the pedal.

i try to embrace the every moment.

but sometimes, life is just overwhelming.

in june i'm set to go on a religious pilgrimage to Israel.

i lived there for 18 months after high school, and whenever i get homesick - it's for there.

the crushed red rock pathways. the corner to corner crumbling buildings. the smell of narguila wafting through the air.

it's a magical place.

and i'm excited to see my mother, who has been living there since september.

and i'm excited to be coming full circle since i left.

to have one last independent spiritual journey before i marry my lover.

this one is for me.

biggest problem?

the $1400 that is standing in front of me and my plane.

i won't lie.

i was completely against blogging a year ago.

'how stupid' i would mutter.

i viewed it as self indulgent, and a way to attract attention.

and actually, it really IS these things.

but it's also a release.

and a way to share art, music, hope, pain, and to splay feelings and creativity for the world to lap up if they choose.

so here am i.

ready to blog.

ready to post things i think are worth sharing.

hopefully someone will get something out of it.

and if not? at least i get some sort of release.
